Happy Birthday Twitter

It's hard to believe but Twitter is 7 years old today. To celebrate, Twitter have created this fantastic video which looks back at some of their biggest events and tweets so far.

Some Twitter first:

THE FIRST TWEET EVER was by Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter. At only 24 characters, the first tweet was well within Twitter's 140 character limit.

THE FIRST TWEET FROM SPACE was in 2010 by NASA astronaut TJ Creamer from the International Space Station.

FIRST TWEET BY THE POPE was just a few months ago by Pope Benedict XVI

Most Popular

Most retweeted tweet to date is Barack Obama's "Four more years" following the US Presidential Election at the end of last year.

Most followers: Justin Beiber stole the Twitter crown from Lady Gaga in January of this year. Justin Beiber now has 36,313,684 followers on Twitter.
